You'll want to avoid showering for at least 4 hours after your spray tan.

Avoid shaving immediately before your spray tan session. Ideally, shave 24 hours prior to allow your skin to recover and avoid any potential irritation. Exfoliate gently: If you're shaving before tanning, gently exfoliate your skin using a mild scrub or exfoliating glove.

Before you get in the tanning bed, it's important to shower, shave, and exfoliate. Just like spray tanning, exfoliating off the dead skin will help you get a more even tan. It's also important to avoid shaving or exfoliating right before the tanning bed, as your skin may be sensitive.

Keep it loose

When deciding what to wear to a spray tan session, always choose loose clothing that won't rub on your skin. Flowy dresses and skirts, or loose-fitting jumpsuits without elastic are ideal. If you're comfortable, avoid wearing a bra or underwear, which tends to cling to skin and may cause discoloration.
