Job DescriptionRemote position is responsible for supporting Department of Family and Protective Service (DFPS) procurement business processes; entering/maintaining/reconciling data in the CAPPS Financial automated business process systems; developing and running queries and/or reports from various systems and modifying query files to provide usable reports for analysis work; and identifying problem requisitions and handling other user problems, user setups. Additional responsibilities of the position include changing Purchase Order funding chartfields authorized by Budget and finalizing CAPPS Financial requisitions. This position will provide backup to the Procurement Support Team Lead and assist new staff in training development needs.
Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for supporting the DFPS procurement business processes. Responsible for changing chartfield data and finalizing requisitions. Responsible for providing technical advice and assistance to agency requestors. Work includes assisting all requestors in the ordering and receiving of goods/services. Responsible for credit card usage. Responsible for assisting requesters in problem resolution. Responsible for developing and running queries and creating reports to support business processes and provide data to upper management, auditors and other stakeholders. Responsible for updating training manuals and on-line information. Completes Purchase order adjustments requested by DFPS Staff to have HHS PCS complete changes directly to purchase order amounts. Complete training guides and present to staff for ongoing DFPS procurement processes. Liaison between DFPS and HHS PCS. Completes other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of purchasing and procurement methods and procedures Knowledge of CAPPS Financial System for procurements. Knowledge of automation principles and techniques. Knowledge of complex automated accounting systems. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Skill in effective verbal and written communication. Ability to establish goals and objectives. Ability to devise solutions to administrative/accounting policies and procedures. Ability to prepare concise reports.
Registration Or Licensure RequirementsCertified Texas Contract Developer (CTCD) - (formerly Certified Texas Procurement Manager) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Initial Selection CriteriaGraduation from high school or equivalent. Six months of experience in purchasing, contracting or office administration is preferred.
Additional InformationA copy of the applicant’s most current performance evaluation or current dated letter of recommendation from current or previous employer is due at time of interview.
